You’ll be in an environment where you meet other parents and share ideas, thoughts and experiences.
AKA playgroups operate 3 hour sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings and families can choose when they want to attend. We currently have five playgroups Auckland-wide.
Whakawhānaungatanga is at the heart of our playgroups for our children/tamariki. We take pride in our communities: our identity, our beliefs and our values.
- We have our own play-room and outdoor play area
- Each play group has a coordinator to support you and your whānau
- Completely free of charge
- Welcomes children from birth to school age
- Adults stay and play
- Get to know other families
- Refreshments are provided
The benefits of playgroup are for both the child and the caregiver. Free playgroups help children develop social skills and provide opportunities for caregivers to build relationships and support each other. Auckland playgroups build strong communities and embrace the idea that “it takes a village to raise a child”.

“Hay Park Playgroup was an extremely valuable playgroup where my children and I felt a sense of belonging, a place that we could gain relationships with mums, dads, grandparents and their children.”
“We really enjoyed the range of toys, activities, water and messy play as well as the many shared lunches, birthday parties and outings that we shared over the 2 and 1/2 years we were there. I will never forget the time we had at playgroup.“
