Kia ora and welcome to Oranga Kindergarten

We are committed to ensuring positive and respectful relationships with people, places and things. Every child is valued as a unique individual with their own interest and talents. At the heart of this is Te Ao Māori, as we value this as a distinctive taonga (treasure) within Aotearoa New Zealand.

We create a welcoming culture that reflects our dynamic and richly diverse community. To help achieve this we work in consultation with whānau, sharing aspirations for our tamariki in the kindergarten environment and beyond. We believe teaching and learning (ako) is a reciprocal and collaborative process. This approach compels children’s engagement and exploration of their world, focusing on their interests and encouraging inquiry and active participation.

We endeavour to sustain a well-resourced, equitable and responsive environment that provides the best possible setting for tamariki to flourish.

What parents are saying…

  • I have been absolutely amazed at the level of care at Oranga kindergarten. Your attention to detail and treating my twins as individuals. Seamlessly picking up on my child's strengths and encouraging them to practice and explore more. Also helping my daughters to effectively overcome challenges has been phenomenal. Also, the inclusiveness of all cultures you have at Oranga kindergarten is wonderful and really represents our values as a family. As my girls have been in a few daycares before coming to Oranga, we really value how you do things here. It's such a load off our shoulders as parents to know our children are getting the best early learning education possible in NZ at not daycare prices! All the fun stuff we've done! All the awesome family parties and field trips and holiday celebrations really bring the community together and is so wonderful for the children and families.

From the ERO Reports…

  • Teachers regularly identify groups of children for more in depth assessment. They work together to produce information for parents of these children, showing their child's learning and development over time.

  • Parents who spoke with ERO appreciated the way they had been warmly welcomed into the kindergarten. Teachers work well with individual children and their families to help them settle into the programme.
