Kia ora and welcome to Northcote Kindergarten
At Northcote Kindergarten, tamariki learn, play and grow in a welcoming environment where relationships, belonging and a love of learning are at the heart of what we do.
Our large, leafy outdoor environment, with beautiful established trees and plenty of natural shade, provides endless opportunities for exploration, challenge, creativity and connection with nature. As a committed Enviroschools kindergarten, caring for our environment is an important part of everyday life. Tamariki are encouraged to care for Papatūānuku and develop a strong sense of kaitiakitanga.
Inside, our calm, natural learning environment offers inviting, open-ended spaces where children can follow their interests, be creative, investigate and learn alongside others.
Our dedicated and experienced teaching team works hard to know every child and their whānau, recognising and celebrating their strengths, interests, culture, language and identity. Our local curriculum reflects our Northcote community, with strong connections to our local schools, community and the places that are important to our tamariki and whānau.
Our programme is strengthened by ENGAGE, which supports self-regulation, resilience and social and emotional learning, and ENRICH, supporting oral language and early literacy through intentional, playful learning experiences.
At Northcote Kindergarten, we want every child to feel a strong sense of belonging, to be confident in who they are, and to have plenty of opportunities to explore, connect, contribute and grow.
