Kia ora and welcome to Meadowbank Kindergarten
Belonging and Community – At Meadowbank Kindergarten, we foster a warm and inclusive environment where every child and whānau feels a genuine sense of belonging. We prioritise creating a space where everyone—big and small—is welcomed, valued, and connected.
Our kindergarten community is at the heart of all we do. Teachers, children, families, and community partners each play an important role in shaping our kindy. We nurture strong, respectful relationships that support wellbeing, celebrate diversity, and create a fun, caring atmosphere for all.
Learning Through Play – We provide a nurturing, friendly environment that inspires curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. Children are supported on their unique learning journeys, with their interests guiding meaningful, play-based experiences.
Our teaching approach is collaborative, inclusive, and reflective. Through play, children explore, discover, and build essential skills in ways that feel natural and engaging.
Growing Independence – We encourage children to develop a confident “I can do it” attitude. By supporting self-help skills, emotional regulation, and belief in their abilities, we help children build resilience and independence.
Our kindergarten also features a fantastic outdoor environment, including a large slide, swings, and plenty of space for physical play and adventure. This setting encourages exploration, creativity, and imagination to flourish.
Te Ao Māori & Bicultural Foundations – We recognise Aotearoa New Zealand as a multicultural nation grounded in a rich bicultural heritage. We are proud to have a teacher who speaks te reo Māori and brings knowledge of tikanga and te Ao Māori into our everyday practice.
We actively uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (Treaty of Waitangi), ensuring our programme reflects and respects Aotearoa’s unique cultural identity.
Inclusiveness – We are a multicultural kindergarten, proud of the many cultures that make up our community. We encourage all tamariki and their whānau to share their traditions, knowledge, and cultural practices, and to take part in celebrations throughout the year.
By embracing and learning from one another, we create a rich and supportive environment where everyone can grow together. This fosters a strong sense of belonging, ensuring that all our whānau feel valued, respected, and included in our kindergarten community.
We welcome you to come and visit, we’d love to show you around so you can see all we have to offer your child.
