Greenhithe Kindergarten

Kia ora and welcome to Greenhithe Kindergarten

Welcome to Greenhithe Kindergarten! We have been part of the Greenhithe Community since 1995 and are a small community focused Kindergarten (with a maximum of 30 children per day) that provides a warm and welcoming place for our tamariki (children), whānau (family) and community.

Our Kindergarten is based on learning through play. This means children are encouraged to participate in a wide range of learning activities, to extend and develop their skills and knowledge. Learning through play in the early years helps to lay the foundation for essential life skills.

The teachers (kaiako) work alongside the children to enhance teachable moments and encourage children’s emergent interests as the foundation for learning. As a team, we have a strong focus on fostering dispositional learning for our tamariki and how these impact on their development. We have been involved in a two year (2017-2019) Research Project focusing on Transition to School which we are very proud of.

Our kaiako are skilled in implementing the Incredible Years Teacher Programme which supports young children with self-regulation and their social, emotional and academic competence.

It has been one year and three months since we enrolled Isaac into Greenhithe Kindergarten. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and your colleagues for doing a wonderful job of imparting early childhood education to Isaac. Over the entire period we have seen many positive changes in Isaac. He makes some friends there and his communication skills and confidence have improved. it's been amazing. I would like to thank Jess, Neena, Savannah, Sara and Karen for all their efforts taking care of the children in Greenhithe Kindergarten. Amir had a wonderful time there and we, as the parents, were very confident while he was there. I highly recommend this place more specifically because of:

2. Safe, clean and beautiful environment with the variety of lovely learning toys and playing stuff for the kids around.
