Kia ora and welcome to Glen Innes Kindergarten

Glen Innes Kindergarten is your local Kindergarten on Taniwha Street in Wai-O-Taiki Bay. We’re proud to have been a key part of the local community since 1959.  We’re a richly resourced Kindergarten with ample space for outdoor play in our established grounds. Our inspirational environment fosters children’s curiosity in a strong framework focussed on learning through play.

Skilled teachers – We are a small team of qualified and experienced teachers with a big heart. We lead a free play based programme, following children’s interests in a learning environment that is engaging and fun.

Learning is fun – Embracing children’s wonder,  playfulness, culture and love for learning is paramount as they build  a strong sense of who they are and the endless opportunities that await them in this ever changing world.

Working together – Planning occurs in collaboration with families to include aspirations and to support each child’s individuality to become the best they can be, confident to take the next steps in their learning journey.

Time and space for learning – We are licensed for just 30 children aged from 2 to 5 years old. Unlike many other preschools in the area, our small numbers and fully qualified teaching team means we are able to support and extend children’s individual interests and needs, enabling them to further their knowledge. This type of dedicated support is not something you will find in larger childcare centres.

We are free! – There is no cost for children who attend our Kindergarten, who can attend up to 6hrs a day, 5 days a week.  We operate 8:30am – 2:30 pm during school term times.  We welcome you to visit us to experience all that we have to offer.

  • FROM OUR ERO REPORT

Children with additional learning needs are well supported by teachers and teacher aides to ensure all children experience the play-based curriculum. Teachers make good use of external agencies to support these children and their families.
