Kia ora and welcome to Flat Bush Kindergarten

Tena koe, nau mai hoki mai ki Flatbush Kindergarten.

Ehara taku toa I te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini e.

My success is not achieved by myself but through the work of many.

This whakatauki/Maori proverb perfectly describes the mahi/work, akonga/learning that happens here at Flat Bush Kindergarten, at home and in our community for our tamariki and whānau.

We’re for you – Flat Bush Kindergarten is a not-for-profit, community-based kingergarten providing 35 hours free childcare a week. We work in partnership with whānau towards achieving their aspirations for their tamariki. We’re proud that our Flat Bush Kindergarten children grow to be well-rounded individuals who recognise their uniqueness, are proud of who they are and strive to fulfil their full potential.

Focus on learning – Our fully qualified, professional teachers are passionate about our work with children and love working with whānau in our community. We have a strong focus on learning, and use a variety of different methods to inspire our children. Through play-based learning we follow the strengths and interests of each child, extending their knowledge and building connections.

Quality learning with heart – Our learning programme is led by the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum ‘Te Whariki.’ Our philosophy is steeped in Whanaungatanga/Relationships, Aroha and Manaakitanga/Wellbeing.

Proud of who we are – We’re a culturally diverse teaching team, reflecting our children, whānau and community. We celebrate our diversity with lots of kindy events and cultural activities. Our children see themselves reflected in kindy life and are proud of who they are.

We welcome you to come and visit with your child, see our kindy in action (children and teachers!). This is the best way for you to know if our kindy  feels like a ‘good fit’ for you both!
