Kia ora and welcome to Devonport Kindergarten

Devonport Kindergarten offers a full six hour day model.  With a strong level of involvement in the local community and with well-established school networks, Devonport Kindergarten supports a sense of community belonging.

Here at Devonport Kindergarten, we value the importance of children’s play in developing meaningful learning experiences.  Teachers work alongside children to encourage and inspire their interests and projects.

We have three qualified registered teachers who are committed to providing high quality early childhood education, where the principles, strands and goals of Te Whāriki underpin our teaching and learning environment.  We are inclusive of the diversity that children and their families bring and value developing relationships that are responsive, reciprocal and respectful.

  • FROM OUR ERO REPORT

Children are relaxed and demonstrate a sense of belonging in the kindergarten. They initiate conversations with each other and teachers. Friendships amongst children are well established.

  • FROM OUR ERO REPORT

Parent aspirations for their child's learning are recorded, regularly revisited and included in learning stories. The programme promotes children's dispositional learning, creativity, challenge and social relationships.
