Kia ora and welcome to Bucklands Beach Kindergarten

At Bucklands Beach Kindergarten we’re known for our dedicated teaching team, amazing learning environment and fantastic ready for school programme.

Our learning environment – Our curriculum provides for budding scientists, mathematicians, artists, story tellers and many more. We encourage children to find their talents and interests, to share and extend on them. From two to five years, our children enjoy our mixed age groups, developing their leadership and mentoring skills and learning from and alongside each other in meaningful and authentic ways. We celebrate the curiosity and zest for life that our two year olds bring to our environment.

Amazing outdoors – From making magic potions, intrepid bug hunts, to brave explorers discovering new magical lands and creatures, our beautiful outdoor area provides such fantastic opportunities for children’s imaginations to flourish and soar.

Dedicated teaching team – We have a team of five enthusiastic, fun-loving teachers who are committed to providing experiences that encourage all of our children to be involved, to discover new interests and talents and to have a go. We know how privileged we are to teach young children and cherish the special moments that we have with them on a daily basis.  We work in partnership with our parents and whanau to meet their individual aspirations for their child.

Specialist care – Our kaiako are skilled in implementing the Incredible Years Teacher Programme which supports young children with self-regulation and their social, emotional and academic competence.

Flourishing friendships – Friendships can bring more happiness to our lives than anything else! Having a special friend can feel like absolute magic! We love to watch our tamariki flourish in friendship making, enhancing their social skills, their own personal self esteem, confidence and happiness. We hope to provide a home away from home where relationships are vital and children know that this is their place. We recognise remarkable and special friendships, and promote an inclusive environment at our kindergarten. We have recently introduced our “care corner” to encourage and support children in finding a friend to play with.

Indoor spaces – Cutting, moulding, dancing, reading, drawing and so much more! Our indoor environment provides a place for play that supports many areas of our curriculum. We have separate spaces for different types of play and provide places for children that encourage both solitary and group play.

Transition to school – Transitioning to school can be a scary time for children and parents. At Bucklands Beach Kindergarten we provide a ready for school programme for our four and a half year olds. These groups allow children to develop their confidence and skills that support and empower them as they head off to school.

Get in touch with our friendly team today to book a visit, we’d love to show you around our kindergarten!
