Kia ora and welcome to Bairds Kindergarten

Welcome to Bairds Kindergarten!

Bairds Kindergarten is inclusive. The diverse cultures of our staff, children and their whānau are valued.  We are passionate about helping children to realize their full potential.

We have a passionate and dedicated Parent Whānau Support Group who meet regularly and work cohesively in partnership with the staff to provide amazing family events and engaging opportunities for the kindergarten community. Families are encouraged to be actively involved in the life of the kindergarten parent meetings, workshops, storypark, portfolios, scrapbooks, team meetings, school visits, trips, special events …

We believe that it takes a village to raise a child, which is why we find it important involve our families and community in our kindergarten environment.

With many current parents who attended the kindergarten when they were younger, their participation in their children’s education is important. This is why we have created whānau teams. Phoenix, Taniwhas and Sharks. These teams have really encouraged the families, children and teachers to work together.

Our kaiako are skilled in implementing the Incredible Years Teacher Programme which supports young children with self-regulation and their social, emotional and academic competence.

Check out some of our posts and blogs. Pop in and say hi.

  • FROM OUR ERO REPORT

The learning programme is based on children's interests and includes excursions into the local and wider community. Children are happy and engaged in their self-chosen activities. They are affirmed in their languages and cultural identity and are supported in their use of home languages.
