Kia ora and welcome to Sylvia Park Kindergarten

Sylvia Park Kindergarten is a warm, welcoming and magical place that encourages children to explore, indulge their imagination and to have fun.

Learning with us – We are passionate about inspiring children (tamariki) through play based learning. Our learning environment is vast. Tamariki enjoy a variety of resources to support their learning such as family play, arts and crafts, music, outdoor play, manipulative and imaginative play spaces. Experiencing these activities supports tamariki to grow and learn alongside others. Tamariki learn to communicate, be friends and make friends, to think, question and reason. Play is instinctive and therapeutic, and a fundamental part of learning.

Our wonderful outdoors – Tamariki experience hands-on learning in nature, our beautiful trees and green environment offer so many wonderful outdoor adventures. Being outside supports creativity and problem solving in our children, enhancing cognitive abilities and gives relevance to their learning as they explore real life opportunities.

Proud of who we are – Our kindergarten celebrates the many cultures of our tamariki and their family in a space that welcomes whānau (family) involvement and community connections. Children feel acknowledged and empowered and encouraged to explore within a safe and natural environment.

Tailored support – Our qualified teaching team work alongside parents and whānau developing loving and caring relationships that enable us to learn alongside each child individually. Together we support tamariki to build connections in their learning and extend their skills and knowledge by doing the things they love.

We’re open 8.30am to 2.30pm during school terms and offer 20hrs free every week for children aged 2 to 5 years – that’s 3 out of 5 days free! Contact us – we’d love to show you around.

  • WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING

Wow what a ride….Briyanna has learnt so many skills, which will set her up for life. During her kindy days she has made so many great friends and told us lots of stories of day to day kindy life, we are going to miss these dearly. Briyanna has gone from a quiet reserved girl to a strong willed, very independent, confident, sassy girl all thanks to you. These last few months she has loved her time as the “AKO Teacher”, perhaps she may even come back in the future years as a teacher herself.
