Kia ora and welcome to Papatoetoe Kindergarten

E hara taku toa i te toa takitaki

Engari he toa takitini

I come not with my own strengths

but bring with me the gifts,

talents and strengths of my family,

tribe and ancestors.

Together our children thrive – At Papatoetoe Kindergarten we value our whānau and community and enjoy working in partnership with them. We know our children and families well, and encourage parents and whānau to spend time and get involved in our kindergarten’s programme, sharing their strengths and skills with us.

Quality you can trust – Papatoetoe Kindergarten has been an important part of the community for 75 years and we feel proud to continue to provide high quality early childhood education for our tamariki/children and whānau. We are a fully qualified teaching team, passionate about our tamariki and building on their love for learning.

Proud of who we are – We are a vibrant multicultural kindergarten and we celebrate and have fun together, learning with and from each other. Our tamariki/children have a strong sense of who they are and where they come from, they know they have a turangawaewae – a standing place, and that this is their kindergarten. Our curriculum reflects our children’s cultural identity and heritage and empowers them to be proud of who they are.

Our learning programme – Our children love to learn through play. Our passionate and dedicated teaching team work closely with the children to follow and extend upon their individual learning interests, strengths and passions. These are incorporated into all the curriculum areas of our programme including: science and nature, literacy, art, music and dance and maths. We empower our tamariki to become confident and capable learners of the future.

Learning outdoors – Our children make the most of the learning that happens in our large and beautiful outdoor environment – they enjoy gardening, investigating and exploring, climbing, having fun, working together with friends, and learning to be guardians/ kaitiaki of our natural environment.

We would love you to come and visit Papatoetoe Kindergarten to meet our teaching team and see the kindergarten in action.
