Kia ora, Welcome, Ni hao, Annyoung, Talofa lava, Mālō e lelei, Lei ho and Namaste to Cascades Kindergarten. Our kindergarten promotes inclusive practices and believes that every child has the right to participate in early childhood education.
Everyone is welcome!
We strive to bring a holistic approach to our bi-cultural learning through sharing and connecting with people places and our environment. The sharing of te reo and tikanga practices we believe it builds authentic trusting partnerships with whānau, tamariki/children and others.
Our learning environment continues to foster and inspire individuals and the wider community towards making positive choices for a sustainable future. We are guided by the Enviroschools Kaupapa as we promote a healthy, peaceful and sustainable program. The values of Manaaki – Kindness, Compassion and Empathy are shown towards each other, our place and our Earth. We aim to show mindful consideration as we create a peaceful/rangimaria, calm atmosphere and a way of being.
The teaching team at Cascades Kindergarten are professionally qualified teachers, who work co-operatively with children/tamariki through noticing, recognising and responding to meaningful inquiry learning. We believe children learn best through “Play”. Playing to learn, provides an active learning process which enables children/tamariki to become capable, creative and confident explorers.
Our kindergartens have early childhood qualified and registered teachers. The teachers are dedicated to, and passionate about, early childhood education. Each kindergarten has a head teacher plus teachers and support staff. Quality learning programmes are based on the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whãriki.
