Yendarra Kindergarten is a two-teacher kindergarten in Otara, Manukau City. sessions.

Situated next door to Yendarra Primary School and just up the road from Flatbush Primary the kindergarten is also close to the shopping centre.

We are proud of our beautiful gardens, which provide the setting for the children to explore, investigate, question and be captivated by the wonders of the natural world.  The discoveries that happen in the large outdoor area are the beginning of endless learning opportunities.

To keep in step with the changes that ICT is bringing to children’s education and their lives in general, technology such as cameras’ and computers are available to children to use and learn from as part of the daily curriculum.

Using the Maori practise of Manaakitanga or caring for others, the children become part of a community in which people are valued above all else.  And it is in this environment that we emphasise the social skills the children need to become good learners.

We believe that children learn best through play, while involved with peers, teachers, other adults and their surroundings. We have an environment that is both physically safe yet challenging.

As the local community has representatives form all the main islands of the Pacific, children and their families are encouraged to share and celebrate their own unique languages and cultural differences.
