Wellsford Kindergarten serves the Wellsford township and surrounding rural community.  Many families travel some distance to attend. 

Our kindergarten community consists of Maori and Pakeha children with a small percentage of Asian children attending.

Wellsford Kindergarten is set in a spacious park-like environment with a large bark area, playground equipment, sandpits and garden, complimented with mature trees.
The interior of the building has been renovated and now provides a spacious, light and exciting environment.

Wellsford Kindergarten respects the dual heritage of New Zealand and therefore Te Reo and ti Kanga Maori are inclusive to the programme.  We have good liaisons with local Maori agencies.

Children are encouraged to learn by thinking, reasoning and following through with their own interests and ideas.  Assessment, evidence of children’s learning, is displayed throughout the kindergarten and is recorded in individual portfolios by learning stories, photos artwork and parents' voice.  Parents are welcome to stay on in session and their help and input is much appreciated.
