At Snells Beach Kindergarten we support the children in their learning by encouraging them to build on their own strengths and interests. We are well resourced to enhance children’s learning experiences and use information technology to record our children’s enjoyment and development. We are a kindergarten that believes in and promotes the involvement of parents and whanau in their child’s early childhood experiences.
The kindergarten embraces the many outdoor recreational facilities on offer as we are located next to the Snells Beach Community Centre and Library and we back on to the Goodall Reserve. Our community involvement is further reflected in our close relationships with our contributing schools to allow for a smooth transition as the children progress through their educational life.
Our families enjoy an active beachside and rural lifestyle and our programme reflects this. Our large, open outdoor area caters for the children’s physical development and we are able to provide experiences that are unique to our area such as feeding our own Kindergarten lambs. We allow plenty of room for exploration and experimentation whilst still providing space for quiet reflective moments so that the children develop in a holistic way.
