Mt Albert Kindergarten is a three teacher public kindergarten.  The kindergarten is adjacent to Auckland Unitec and close to Gladstone Primary School.

The families in our kindergarten encompass a wide diversity of socio-economic groups and ethnicities.

The kindergarten aims to provide quality learning experiences to engage children, parents and whanau.  Children and their families will experience an environment where children’s learning will be noticed, recognised and responded to.  This includes creating an environment where children learn through extending on their own interests.

Children’s learning and progress is documented through portfolios and wall displays which are also accessible and meaningful to parents and whanau.

We believe effective assessment strengthens family involvement in children’s learning, and strengthens all children as capable and confident learners.

Our goal for assessment is to make learning visible that is valued so that the learning community (children, families, whanau, teachers, and others) can foster ongoing and diverse learning pathways.
