Lincoln North Kindergarten is situated in a residential area, bordering on a park and stream, and is within walking distance of the local primary schools and shopping centre.
We provide a well-resourced and attractive environment, which fosters opportunities to participate in a wide variety of activities catering to the individual children’s levels of learning, interests and strengths.
The children are empowered to initiate their own learning in a confident manner and to be independent in accessing equipment and resources. The engaging activities that are provided encourage and promote children’s early literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
The children develop and extend on their relationship skills and strategies that support their learning and enable them to engage in reciprocal conversations with their peers and teachers. This provides the children with the tools to become competent and confident communicators.
Family/whanau are well informed about their child’s progress and encouraged to contribute to their child/s documentation of learning (individual portfolio). Children readily access their portfolio’s reflecting on their past achievements and future learning (goals).
There is also a strong partnership between family/whanau members and the teachers encourage participation in the educational programme, in fundraising, and family/whanau events.
