Avondale Kindergarten is situated in Central West Auckland, next to Rosebank Primary School and Avondale College. We have close links with Rosebank Primary, including a partnership with the bi-lingual Samoan and Maori units and regular school visits, which support a smooth transition from kindergarten to school.

Our children come from a diverse range of cultures, i.e. Maori, NZ European, Samoan, Tongan, Indian and Chinese. There is a strong emphasis on respect and collaboration at Avondale Kindergarten. We are committed to the Treaty of Waitangi; Maori customs and Te Reo are an integrated part of our curriculum.

We view children as capable, strong and rich in experiences; therefore we value an environment which enables the children to explore their areas of interest. Our spacious outdoor area lends itself to team games and provides opportunities for physical and social development.

Teachers support children’s learning experiences, utilising their knowledge of current educational theory, within the guidelines of the early childhood curriculum, aiming to support the development of children into competent and confident learners.
