Student Teacher Practicums

The Auckland Kindergarten Association provides practicum opportunitites for students who are currently completing early childhood qualfications, for example, a Diploma in Teaching (ECE), or Bachelor of Education (Teaching).

To be placed in one of our kindergartens, students must be studying at a New Zealand educational institution that is approved by the New Zealand Teachers Council.  All student teacher practicums are arranged between AKA and the various Teacher Education Providers.

Work Experience Placements

The Auckland Kindergarten Association also provides work experience opportunities for students studying towards Early Childhod qualifications who are required to do a set number of hours per week to meet course requirements.  Again, students must be studying at an institution that is approved by the New Zealand Teachers Council.  All work experience at our kindergartens is carried out on a voluntary basis.
