The Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) offers volunteer placements at our kindergartens and is an excellent way to experience hands-on early childhood education in a New Zealand setting.

Many of the volunteers who spend time at AKA kindergartens are visiting New Zealand through exchange programmes, and are often studying English and/or early childhood education in their home country.

Volunteer placements can last up to 4 weeks.  This generally consists of 2-3 half days (afternoon sessions) per week.  Each session is approximately 3 hours and is with children 3-4 years of age.

Our ability to accommodate these requests varies depending on our term schedule and the kindergartens’ availability.
